Transporting children
There are many accessories on the market for transporting children by bike, making it surprisingly easy to get around with your kids without a car or public transport. With a bike your family can easily get around car-free and enjoy the weather and the journey a lot more.
Options for transporting children include:
- Baby seats that can be fixed to your bike and are suitable for children aged six months to five years
- ‘Tag-alongs’ or trailer bikes suitable for children aged between four and nine years. These are like a half-bike that attaches to your bike and allows your child to be towed
- Trailers suitable for one or two children aged from birth to five years, which are ideal for doing the school run
- Towbars that enable you to tow one passenger aged between four and eight years
