School Cycle Monitoring
Monitoring of cycling levels at school sites is vital to enable the council to gauge the success of cycling policies across the city. It helps us to assess the impact of local cycling improvement schemes around schools and also plan ahead to meet future demand for cycling. The data collected will also help schools to assess how effective their own travel plans are. To help us monitor cycling levels accurately, we need each school to count the number of bikes parked on their site on a monthly basis. To enable accurate comparisons between schools to be made, counts should be made at the same time: on the 2nd Tuesday of the month except where that would fall within a school holiday period where the next suitable day should be used. Data should be input into your school's section of this website, selecting your school from the drop down menu.
